The outdoors has always felt like home to me. I grew up surrounded by lakes, forests, rivers, and stars—introduced to the rhythms of nature through hunting, camping, fishing, and quiet walks in the woods. That early connection led me to study wildlife ecology and then work as a wildlife biologist, where observing animals in their natural environment taught me the value of patience, presence, and respect for the land.

My camera began as a tool for documentation—but over time, it evolved into something deeper: a way to tell stories, to share quiet moments of beauty, and to help others see what they might have missed. Whether it’s the subtle behavior of a fox sparrow in the brush or the grandeur of the Milky Way arching over a dark northern lake, I’m drawn to the sense of awe that wild places evoke.

In recent years, night sky photography has become a true creative passion. There’s something profound about standing under a canopy of stars in a place free from light pollution—where the silence is broken only by the wind or a distant owl call—and capturing that sense of wonder through a lens. The Upper Peninsula’s dark skies and rugged landscapes provide the perfect canvas for this work.

As a guide and educator, I’m deeply committed to promoting ethical photography—minimizing disturbance to wildlife, respecting sensitive habitats, and modeling Leave No Trace principles on every outing. I believe great photography and great stewardship go hand-in-hand.

More than anything, I love helping others grow their skills and confidence with a camera. Whether you're brand new to manual mode or chasing your first northern lights shot, I want you to feel supported, safe, and inspired. There’s joy in learning, and even more in sharing that learning with others.

If you're looking for an experience that’s rooted in authenticity, curiosity, and a deep love for wild places, I’d love to photograph alongside you.
